Around the lodge
Northern Shores runs the way Sandspit does — practical and friendly. Cook in the shared kitchen, dry your gear, do a load of laundry, and be ten minutes from the ferry when the morning comes.
The communal kitchen — “includes all you need to prepare your own breakfast.”
Microwave, coffee- and tea-making, toaster and fridge — cook your own breakfast before the early ferry.
A well-supplied shared kitchen for full meals — guests tell us it “really helps with meals” on a long island trip.
Somewhere to trade weather reports and Gwaii Haanas plans at the end of the day.
Island internet — good for email and bookings. (Streaming is a tall order this far out.)
Washers and laundry service on site — a lifesaver mid-expedition.
Off-street parking for trucks and trailers, with storage available for gear between trips.
YZP is 2 km away — arrange a pick-up when you book.
Cross Beach Road and you’re on the shoreline. The lodge looks directly out at the water.
Guest words
The lodge is clean and comfortable. Judy runs the place and is so friendly and accommodating… It’s very quiet here and you look out directly on the ocean.
Clean, quiet and the beds, linen and pillows are so comfortable.
A really under-rated motel — I would highly recommend staying there if visiting Sandspit.
